The Art Explora round-table for the SITEM 26th edition

For the 26th edition of the International Exhibition of Museums, Places of Culture and Tourism (SITEM), which took place from 28 to 30 June 2022 at the Louvre Carrousel, the Art Explora foundation joined SITEM to offer a round-table discussion entitled:  

‘Everybody get to be part of the making of meaning’: Exploring audience participation, engagement and access to arts and culture across Europe  

 

The foundation invited the laureates of the Art Explora – Académie des beaux-arts 2021 European Award,  for an exchange on the practices of their respective institutions and the projects implemented to renew the dialogue between the arts and the public.  

Jemima Montagu, Director of Art Explora in the United Kingdom, moderated this exchange which brought together :  

  • Helen Charman, Director of Education, National Programmes and the Young V&A at the Victora and Albert Museum in London (UK)  
  • Claire Leblanc, Director of the Ixelles Museum in Brussels (Belgium)  
  • Stephanie Masuy, Head of the public service of the Musée d'Ixelles in Brussels (Belgium)  
  • Loraine Vilain, Mediation officer at the Louvre-Lens Museum in Lens (France)
