Morgan Courtois was born in Abbeville (France) in 1988, he lives and works in Paris. Morgan Courtois falls within the tradition of those who, since the advent of art nouveau, became fascinated by botany. An avid reader, he is passionate about the living world. Although he searches in the pages of scientific books for what gives nature its reasons for being, his artworks express a poetic world with a sensitive aesthetic. He received the Meurice Prize in 2017. His work has been presented in numerous solo and collective exhibitions, notably at the Musée d’art Moderne de la ville de Paris (2017), Fondation Pernod Ricard, Paris (2017), the Rijksakademie, Amsterdam (2019), and the Biennale de Lyon (2019). He is represented by the Galerie Balice Hertling (Paris).
