Art Explora is an international foundation that inspires new encounters between arts and audiences – locally, nationally and internationally.

Our imaginative, contemporary approach encourages new forms of access, participation and engagement with arts and culture, pushing boundaries with digital technology and mobile programmes.

We work in partnership with artists, cultural organisations and communities, exploring all art forms, and creating unforgettable cultural experiences for everyone.

Founded by entrepreneur Frédéric Jousset in 2019, Art Explora is a collective journey bringing together many partners and more than 1600 volunteers.

Frédéric Jousset

President-founder

After graduating from HEC Paris in 1992 (he currently chairs the HEC Alumni network), in 2000, Frédéric Jousset co-founded Webhelp, which has become a global leader in managing customer relationships. He is very passionate about art and culture, and is actively involved in the cultural world. In particular, he chaired the board of directors of the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris (Paris National School of Fine Arts) from 2011 to 2014, is a board member of the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs (National School of Decorative Arts), and has been a board member of the Louvre since 2016.

Frédéric Jousset

Bruno Julliard

Director

As a law student, Bruno was elected as Chairman of the leading student union, UNEF, in 2005. In 2008, he became deputy-mayor in charge of youth for the City of Paris. As First Deputy to the Mayor of Paris, he was in charge of culture, artistic professions and heritage in 2014. He sits on a the boards of a number of Paris’ cultural institutions and, between 2014 and 2018, was Chairman of Paris Musées, a public body representing the 14 museums of the City of Paris. As special advisor to the Ministry of National Education, he helped to draw up education policy guidelines in 2012. He left the City of Paris Council in 2018 to join Frédéric Jousset who was prefiguring Art Explora, and became the director of the foundation on its creation in 2019.

Blanche de Lestrange

Artistic director

Following her Sorbonne undergraduate degree in history of art, Blanche graduated from Sciences Po Paris and has been deputy director in charge of the FIAC artistic programming and « Hors les Murs » programs since 2010. She has also directed performance, dance, artists’ films and conference programs in collaboration with major cultural institutions such as the Louvre, the Palais de la découverte and the Centre Pompidou, and was co-curator for performance programs at the Silencio in Paris and the Printemps de Septembre contemporary art festival. In 2017, she co-founded the association Thanks for Nothing, which creates links between the art world and charity organizations. At Art Explora, she will develop artist residencies at the Cité internationale des arts in Montmartre and build synergies with the foundation’s cultural partners.

Léa Forget

Head of communication and digital marketing

After graduating from the EDHEC Business School with a specialization in management and marketing, Léa worked on communication and activation missions for different companies such as L’Occitane en Provence and more recently the Danone Group. She worked during 5 years on the sponsoring and communication strategy of the company and its cultural and sport events. Specialized in content creation, she joins the foundation in 2020 as head of communication and marketing digital with the mission to spread Art Explora’s messages and projects and address the widest audience as possible.

Léa Forget

Giorgia Vitarelli

Head of Patronage and Sponsorships

Specialized in fundraising for culture, Giorgia has worked for more than ten years with renowned public and private cultural institutions internationally. With a background in Management of Cultural Institutions at Bocconi University in Milan and at the Copenhagen Business School, she has more recently structured the partnership strategy of FIAC and Paris Photo. Convinced of the social power of art and culture, Giorgia joined Art Explora to support the Foundation in the development of its resources.

In 2021, she joined the digital team of Art Explora. She is currently in charge of monitoring the digital platform Art Explora Academy developments.

She worked for twelve years in cultural structures in communication and project management functions. She first worked for the Galeries Lafayette Group, a patron of the arts, fashion and design, and then for the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain. She then took over the communication management of the laboratory vessel Energy Observer for three years. A round-the-world Odyssey to test and develop zero-emission technologies and raise awareness of energy and ecological transition issues. Armed with these cross-disciplinary experiences, she joined the ARTEXPLORER project to prepare its itinerary around the world.

Nicolas Koster

Head of volunteering

After starting a career as a social worker in the field of integration and prevention of exclusion, Nicolas has evolved in 2008 in the management and development of associative projects by joining the national management teams of educational NGOs at national and international scope, where he was involved in the support and promotion of volunteer networks for social impact projects. In 2022, he naturally joined the team of the Art Explora Foundation to promote the development of the volunteer community.

Nicolas Koster

Paule Mourani

Head of Public Engagement and Cultural Partnerships – ARTEXPLORER

Paule has more than 20 years of experience in France and internationally in multiple fields focused on access to culture for the most diverse audiences. After an experience of audience development in an intercultural context at the Institut du Monde Arabe, Paule led the educational policy and mediation strategy at the Agence France Muséums for the Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum. As part of this experience, she led the creation of the Children's Museum including museography and exhibition programming. Paule has a double Masters degree in History at Paris 4 Sorbonne and in Management of Cultural Organizations at Paris Dauphine. She joined the foundation in 2022 to contribute to the Art Explorer project as Head of Public Engagement and Cultural Partnerships.

Regional coordinator of the volunteer community

Passionate about art and culture, Audrey studied at ICART Bordeaux in MBA Cultural Engineering and Management. After 9 months of experience at Art Explora as Operational Mission Manager during her first year of MBA, she joins the foundation in 2023 as Regional Coordinator of the volunteer community in charge of the French Mediterranean region.

After managing mobile projects in France, overseas and in South America, she spent a year training and working in the maritime sector. She joined the Art Explora team to contribute to the organisation of the Art Explorer stopovers.

After having developed her expertise in agency at Rosaparis (BETC Havas group), she was recently Digital Marketing Manager for the developing activities of the mk2 group (Cinema Paradiso Louvre Festival, Curiosity.com streaming platform, Hotel-Paradiso, Trois Couleurs magazine). Sensitive to general interest issues, she joined Art Explora in order to promote the foundation's projects on an international scale.

Director Art Explora UK

Jemima has worked in the fields of visual arts, education and arts development with a range of international arts institutions and non-profits. Educated at Cambridge University and the Courtauld Institute, she worked as Curator of Contemporary Art for Tate, and later joined the UK’s Arts Council to manage funding for museums and arts organisations in London. Cherie Silver

Project Manager - Art Explora MuMo UK Tour

Cherie has over 15 years experience working in the arts. Starting with auction houses in Australia and London, Cherie then completed an MA in Curating and Collections at Chelsea College of Arts. As a recipient of the Chelsea Arts Club Trust Research Fellowship, Cherie took up a position in a non-commercial gallery, Chelsea Space, including curating two exhibitions. In her next role with Mayfair Art Weekend, a gallery weekend event, she developed the public programme including the Mayfair Sculpture Trail and the May Fair Showreel. Now as project manager for the Art Explora MuMo (Mobile Museum), Cherie is excited to work on a project that focusses on making art accessible for all, with the UK pilot tour of the Art Explora MuMo taking place in 2023.

Cherie has over 15 years experience working in the arts. Starting with auction houses in Australia and London, Cherie then completed an MA in Curating and Collections at Chelsea College of Arts. As a recipient of the Chelsea Arts Club Trust Research Fellowship, Cherie took up a position in a non-commercial gallery, Chelsea Space, including curating two exhibitions. In her next role with Mayfair Art Weekend, a gallery weekend event, she developed the public programme including the Mayfair Sculpture Trail and the May Fair Showreel. Now as project manager for the Art Explora MuMo (Mobile Museum), Cherie is excited to work on a project that focusses on making art accessible for all, with the UK pilot tour of the Art Explora MuMo taking place in 2023.

Maider Larrauri

Head of international development

After graduating from the Spanish business school ICADE and Northeastern University in the United States, Maider began her international career in Paris where she spent 9 years marketing products for L’Oréal on the world Luxury market. Her passion for contemporary art and design led her to the Carpenters Workshop Gallery in London’s Mayfair district where she worked as an exhibitions and PR manager. She is now a patron of the Hayward Gallery in London. As a consultant, Maider has also helped many luxury brands to team up with artists. Today, she manages the international development of the foundation.
