Twinning France/UK for International Day of Art in EHPADs

To mark the "International Day of Art in EHPADs" on September 24, 2022, French and English EHPADs were able to take part in a unique twinning operation! Art Explora joined forces with the British organization Arts in Care Home to organize a cultural and artistic exchange.  

As part of the Art Explora FoundationAllô Miró program, volunteers visited 2 EHPADs in the UK and 1 in France, for a rich exchange of cultures.

On the program:  

• A Tea Party and presentation of the work of British artist William Turner for the French residents of an EHPAD near Bordeaux.
• A French Breakfast and presentation of the work of French artist Claude Monet for British residents of 2 EHPADs in the UK.

The event was also punctuated by cultural and linguistic exchanges between France and the UK, a unique opportunity for residents to discover the particularities of the two neighboring countries!  

The first of its kind, we hope to be able to develop this international twinning initiative between EHPADs in the years to come.
