Bora Baboçi

Biography

Bora Baboçi (b. 1988, Tirana, Albania) is an artist whose practice combines spatial research, visual art and reflections on embodiment. A graduate in architecture from the University of Toronto, she also holds a master's degree from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. She spent several years exploring the built environment before channeling her practice through drawing, painting and spatial intervention, sometimes resorting to simple gestures of activation.

Baboçi's work is based on the search for spatial traces and intimate dimensions of human expression, evoking reflections on a personal, social and existential scale. His contributions to publications such as The Untold World and Home as a Showroom testify to his ongoing exploration of themes of home, land, displacement and association, seeking to create loose links between physical and immaterial dimensions.

She has exhibited at such venues as Belmacz Gallery in London, Galerie Kandlhofer in Vienna and Suprainfinit Gallery in Bucharest, and her work has also been shown at Manifesta 14 in Prishtina and the Biennale Mediterranea 19 in San Marino. Baboçi has also taken part in various artistic residencies, including Art Explora in Paris and Salzburger Kunstverein in Austria.
