The girl didn't
A garota não is the musical project of Cátia Mazari Oliveira, combining songwriting and social reflection. Presenting Ferry Gold, this concert brings an intimate and powerful look at contemporary realities.
Ferry Gold is a performative and musical project rooted in memory, observation, and social commentary. Drawing from personal recollections of summers in Tróia — a place once associated with freedom, collective experience, and childhood imagination —, the work reflects on the transformation of public space, the violence of exclusion, and the growing distance between people and the landscapes they once inhabited freely.
Through spoken word, beats, painting, found texts, parliamentary speeches, news fragments, and everyday gestures, the project weaves together intimate and political narratives. Ferry Gold moves between nostalgia and critique, tenderness and irony, evoking both the innocence of shared memories and the realities of privatisation, segregation, and social inequality.
Rather than offering an academic or linear discourse, the work unfolds as a series of free-form reflections and emotional landscapes. It inhabits the textures of ordinary life: messy homes, grief-stricken families, collective frustrations, damaged bodies, raised fists, and dreams lifted from the ground. Nature appears not as escapism, but as one of the few remaining spaces capable of restoring balance and dignity amidst social and political exhaustion.
Ferry Gold invites audiences into a poetic yet urgent universe where memory becomes resistance, and where personal histories echo broader questions about belonging, access, and the right to inhabit shared space.
