Screening and musical performance with orchestra. For decades, doctors have advised against swimming in the Mar Menor under certain conditions. Over the years, a layer of black stone has spread across the bay of Portmán (Murcia) which, in a kind of dictatorship of consensus, we have decided to call "volcanic black stone", in an attempt to bury the memory of mining under a semblance of transitory environmental alignment. Anoxia. A constant prelude is an opera in three movements, offering different approaches to the current problems of the Mediterranean Sea.
An opera that progressively explores some of the most obvious problems facing the Mediterranean Sea. It is a visual song that explores our dubious coexistence and tells in thermal glissandos of the darkness that awaits us, without stagnating in fatality as the only possible melody. It's an audiovisual work constructed in different phases, with diverse voices, multiple sensibilities and real complicities; a naumachie in three acts.
Fito Conesa
A graduate in fine arts, Fito Conesa has exhibited his work in museums such as MACBA and in international centers such as the Oslo Screen Festival and La Casa Encendida. His interdisciplinary work, encompassing video art, installations and performances, has been presented in exhibitions and festivals in Europe and Latin America. In 2021, he was selected as artist-in-residence at the Museu Nacional de Catalunya, consolidating his presence on the contemporary art scene.
