Workshop – Introduction to editorial cartooning! – Cami and SOS Méditerranée
In partnership with the sea rescue NGO SOS MEDITERRANEE, these two workshops offer an introduction to the profession of press cartoonist. After a brief presentation of the profession, the techniques used (symbols, caricatures, subversion, etc.) and the association's missions, the budding journalists will be invited to pick up their pencils and create a topical cartoon.
As a journalist in her own right, the press cartoonist is at the heart of current affairs and, through caricature, raises awareness of social issues. In partnership with the sea rescue NGO SOS MEDITERRANEE, this workshop offers an introduction to the profession of press cartoonist through the presentation of news cartoons on the humanitarian emergency in the Mediterranean.
After a brief presentation of the profession, the techniques used (symbols, caricatures, misappropriation...) and the association's missions, apprentice journalists will be invited to pick up their pencils and draw a news cartoon.
This workshop will enable participants to highlight their citizenship through cartoons, a strategic information tool for freedom of expression.
