Workshop: Making the invisible marine world visible, by Emilie Gaïd
A creative workshop exploring microscopic marine worlds, for families and children aged 10 and over. With artist Émilie Gaïd, set off to discover the forms and landscapes invisible to the naked eye, where art and science meet.

With artist Émilie Gaïd, this workshop offers an immersion into the fascinating world of marine life invisible to the naked eye. Using samples collected from the coastline (seaweed, sand, shells, seawater, micro-organisms and plant fragments), participants observe microscopic forms, textures and landscapes through a microscope. Each participant then creates observational drawings inspired by their discoveries. Bridging art and science, this workshop invites us to look at the world around us in a new way.
Émilie Gaïd
Émilie Gaïd graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Lorient in 2019, followed by the "Art, Media and Environment" programme at Esadhar in 2021. During this same period, she co-founded Le Lieu, a multidisciplinary studio and space in Le Havre, where she continues to work. She was a recipient of the Villa Calderón residency in Louviers and has participated in several exhibitions, including the Biennale de la Jeune Création in Mulhouse and, more recently, the "Jeune Création" exhibition at the Maison des Arts Solange-Baudoux in Évreux.
Her work sits at the intersection of art and science, moving between botany, biology and quantum physics. She develops a vision in which matter, down to its smallest particle, is imbued with its own life and consciousness. Through her work, she questions the boundaries between the living and the non-living, between humans and non-humans, creating objects and narratives that invite us to rethink our relationship with the world.
