G.R.O.O.V.E. is a walking performance inspired by the artistic approach of Bintou Dembélé. Short films exploring countercultural movements on the margins, along with performances, take over the inviting venue. Guided by the voice of Célia Kameni, the audience is invited to immerse themselves in the guitar and lap steel playing of Charles Amblard, and to follow along. Together, they transform the space, inviting you to join them and celebrate with us.

Bintou Dembélé

A leading figure in France’s hip-hop scene, Bintou Dembélé carries on the unique journey of popular culture, embodying through her creative work a Maroon philosophy and dance style. In 2002, she founded Rualité, an organization dedicated to these artistic and cultural projects, fostering a fruitful dialogue between dance, music, and voice on one hand, and the visual arts on the other. From *Les Indes Galantes* at the Paris National Opera to art centers such as the Palais de la Porte Dorée, the Centre Pompidou, and the Palazzo Grassi, she redefines forms of ritual that run counter to her surroundings. An artist-in-residence at the Ateliers Médicis from 2020 to 2022, she was invited to a writing residency at the Villa Médicis (Rome) in 2021 and March 2026, and later at the Villa Albertine (Chicago), where she will inaugurate the residency. In 2022, she received the SACD’s “ Award ” for Choreography. She is regularly commissioned to create works and stage major events, notably by the Musée du Quai Branly (Queerness, les Suds autrement — 2023), a performance for the Helsinki Opera Ballet (April 2026), and conductor Leonardo Garcia Alarcon for La Cité Bleue (premiere scheduled for 2027–2028).
