Black Med is a platform launched by Italian duo Invernomuto in 2018 that aims to intercept the trajectories traced by sounds as they pass through the Mediterranean space. Migratory routes leave sonic traces that, in the words of composer Iain Chambers, "resist representation and propose an intrinsically diasporic affective economy". The heart of the project is a growing musical algorithm that can be heard on the the page and openly during the breaks between festival acts. Each chapter consists of a listening session with texts and music played live. The Malaga show inaugurates a new chapter, number IX, created specifically in relation to the hybrid and complex sounds of this region and its possible echoes in other parts of the Mediterranean, from the medieval cantigas of Santa María, to Algerian raï, via Lola and Manuel or the urban news of rapper Huda.
