Kids' Floor
This show was born out of a grandmother’s desire to explain her work as a choreographer to her grandchildren, who became co-creators of a work that has yet to be seen. With musicians, performers, and a set designer, *Chão de Meninos* came to life: a little world in Sintra where snow laughs, bears play, and green carpets bloom. A dance and music piece celebrating the strength, laughter, and tenderness of childhood. Production: Lavrar o Mar.

This show was born out of a grandmother’s desire to share her work as a choreographer with her grandchildren. Together, they became co-creators of a brand-new idea—an idea that didn’t exist before. Musicians, performers, a set designer, and these two children came together to give birth to CHÃO DE MENINOS, the name of a small place in the municipality of Sintra. This name evokes laughing snow, a fable lost in whiteness, bears at play, and a carpet-like garden born from a shipwreck.
The brave and energetic child, the creator of these wonders, enriched the performance with three seasons: animals, snow, and flowers; the music then filled the air. When everything was ready, many other children arrived and filled the space, transforming it, metamorphosing it. Through this dance and music performance, we hoped that the children’s strength, laughter, and tenderness would be an ever more beautiful expression of their future.
