In 2023, after several stays in Monaco at the invitation of the NMNM, Laure Prouvost, who lives and works in Molenbeek (Belgium), proposed establishing an informal and sensitive connection between these two territories. MoMo (Monaco – Molenbeek) is a play on words, an imaginary space that defies borders to connect energies and invent possibilities.

This spring, MoMo invites you to join them on June 5th in the parks and gardens of the Principality, where children from Monaco and Molenbeek will come together to perform a song of dreams and hope written by Laure Prouvost. They will conclude their journey at 6 pm on the Larvotto promenade at the Prince Albert II Foundation's Green Shift Festival. The two choirs will then sail to the port of Marseille on June 7th and repeat their song, joining forces with children from Marseille for the Art Explora festival, where the eponymous Foundation's museum boat will display its sails designed by the artist.

In her films, murals, and performances, Laure Prouvost explores the relationship between humans and plants, creating joyful hybridizations where otherness generates new growth. She pursues these impulses through actions in public spaces, via greening and awareness campaigns that will soon, in Monaco as in Molenbeek, take the form of collective and festive events where the public will be invited to become active participants.

Laure Prouvost

Laure Prouvost lives and works in Molenbeek. In 2014, the NMNM presented her installation Wantee as part of the "Portraits of Interiors" exhibition, and in 2021, for the "Tremblements" exhibition, she presented Since he's gone, weaved by Grand Ma , a tapestry-video that is now part of the museum's collection. In 2022, she presented Habiter, nager, lévitar, méduser (Inhabiting, Swimming, Leviting, Petrifying ), a performance discussion on the terrace of Villa Paloma with Mathilde Roman. In her work, which intertwines narratives and engages the viewer, she performs with her body and voice, evoking feelings of intimacy and closeness that transcend physical distances. In her narratives, languages connect, forging new meanings and projecting imaginaries inspired by the contexts of the exhibitions as well as the personal fictions she develops over time.

Laure Prouvost is notably the winner of the Turner Prize in 2013. She represented France at the 58th Venice Biennale in 2019. Her works are present in numerous public and private collections such as the MHKA Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp, Belgium; the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington DC, USA; the De Pont Museum, Tilburg, Netherlands; the Louis Vuitton Foundation, Paris, France; the Lucerne Art Gallery, Switzerland; the Arts Council England, London, Great Britain; and the New National Museum of Monaco.
