Shobee
Shobee (real name Chouaib Ribati) is a Moroccan artist, musician, songwriter and composer born in 1991. He is best known for his work in the Moroccan rap genre, where he has been active for over 10 years.
At the turn of the 2010s, he was a pioneer in the reinvention and modernization of the country's rap codes, and a factor of empowerment and emancipation for young Moroccans in the wake of the Arab Spring.
His successes with the Shayfeen duo and then the NAAR collective first gave him influence on the Moroccan rap scene, then a reputation that has spread beyond the kingdom's borders. His collaborations with international artists (Laylow, Lomepal, Amir Obè) and his European tour of France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland as part of the NAAR project laid the foundations for the export of Moroccan rap to Europe. HOWLS is his first solo project.
