Scola Society celebrates the festival with a performance by DOXIES, followed by a concert by XVT. Both musical groups are made up of Scola Society members, friends and communities. Their reunion is a celebration of the networks opening up to the public at the Art Explora Festival in Piraeus. This joyful moment follows on from the mediation processes initiated by Scola Society members for the Art Explora exhibitions at the port of Piraeus, as part of the festival, and represents a new opportunity for the communities involved to come together, both on stage and off.
Formed in October 2024, DOXIES is an Athens-based pan-Asian alternative rock band made up of multilingual musicians from various cities in China. The band consists of VANESSA LI (vocals, one quarter Japanese), MIAO CHEN (bass), KEVIN MA (drums) and JACKY WANG (guitar). DOXIES started out covering Japanese city pop, English rock and Chinese indie rock - reinterpreting the songs they love with their own sonic identity. They are currently working on their first original album: an alternative rock project blending raw emotion and diverse cultural roots. With varied backgrounds in terms of languages, regions and influences, DOXIES seek to fuse what is personal and familiar to them with the energy and spirit of alternative rock - creating a sound that is resolutely unique.
XVT is a young musician from Egypt who composes in Arabic, English and Greek. Through his music, he seeks to represent Egyptian tradition in a contemporary musical language. His style is influenced by hip-hop culture, particularly that of his homeland, which he transposes to his host country, Greece. He continually incorporates a mixture of these elements into his compositions, building a personal narrative through different genres and forms.
