


“Dreams on waves” - Workshop on Community Radio
The workshop continues the artist’s practice on participation as a tool for investigating citizenship. The formed group of participants will learn how to produce a community radio show, narrate, discuss and record together and form questions on our everyday life and the experience of residents of Piraeus, with a focus on communities that experiences migration either in 1920’s and its legacies or very recent experiences. Through the use of sound, music and mapping, we will explore the present soundscape of Piraeus, producing for a future, through sharing experiences, poetry and music.

The workshop will continue the artist’s practice that focuses on participation as a tool for investigating citizenship formation through co-learning processes in the production of shared fragments of language. The group will learn how to produce a community radio show, narrate, discuss and record together and continue to form questions around how we negotiate our everyday life and the experience of of local residents of Piraeus, coming from all different communities but with a focus on communities that experiences migration either in 1920’s and its legacies or very recent experiences.
The workshop will invite the participants for two 3 hour sessions on the first weekend of the festival, where we learn how to produce a podcast or a community radio program, its local history and contemporary distribution realities, start writing a script together and invite the participants to bring songs, texts, poems or recordings from home in order to edit them on the second day of the workshop.
The material will then be processed for mixing and will be available to play on the grounds of the festival and online. Furthermore, a listening session with the participants of the workshop can be scheduled for the second weekend, where we can also discuss their experiences.
Through the use of sound and mapping, we will explore the anxieties and questions of the present in the Piraeus, producing and sharing aesthetics for a future, especially through sharing experiences, poetry and music.

Theo Prodromidis (b. 1979, Thessaloniki, Greece) is a visual artist based in Αthens, Greece. He studied Contemporary Media Practice at the University of Westminster and was awarded an MFA in Fine Art by Goldsmiths, University of London in 2007. Theo’s artistic research and practice on performativity, participation and citizenship has been activated in both institutional and non-formal spaces of learning, action and exhibition.
His work has been exhibited and screened in galleries, museums and festivals such as the Callirrhoë, GMK Zagreb, 3rd Industrial Art Biennial, Furtherfield, Galerija Nova, State of Concept Αthens, the 1st and 5th Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art, the 4th Αthens Biennale, i.a.
Since 2021, he was the co-leader of “An album from our square", supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Public Humanities Initiative (SNFPHI) at Columbia University and a fellow of AFIELD. His artistic research has been supported by the Greek Ministry of Culture and has participated, through the production of new work, in the program "Cοmmunities of Learning, Bridging the Gap of Isolation" initiated by WHW and supported by the Culture of Solidarity Fund of the European Cultural Foundation.
Since 2023, he was a resident artist at the Public Activities Department of Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid and he is currently developing a new body of work for Tranzit Iași.

Yes, the boat is freely accessible on site. However, you can pre-book your time online on our website.
For reasons of safety and preservation of the boat, high heels and stilettos may not be worn on the boat.
The museum boat is open to all free of charge. To find out on which quay it will be moored, or to pre-book your slot, consult the page dedicated to your town.
Appropriate facilities have been set up on the Festival site for the reception and access of people with reduced mobility. The boat is equipped with a 1m-wide ramp, accessible to people with reduced mobility, but may require the accompaniment of a third party due to its gradient of over 6%. Access to the aft deck and immersive exhibition is possible. However, the upper deck is not accessible. Please inform us in advance of any special accessibility requirements, so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
