Yannis Maniatakos painted each of his paintings underwater, several meters deep. The artist has created numerous works which are seabed landscapes from various regions of Greece. The video presents Yannis Maniatakos during his creative process. To achieve painting underwater, the artist developed different pictorial techniques that he continued to improve throughout his career. His paintings bear witness to his fascination with the seabed and the calm that reigns there, as well as the feeling of sublimity that these extraordinary places confer.

Life is a constant race against the clock, in which everything is planned in advance. Everything is tied to a specific chronological order, and we're just chasing it to catch up. Everything is put to the test, until it slows down. What if we decided to stop for a moment? What if we paused to appreciate the present moment, however insignificant it may seem?
Fragments aims to highlight the poetry to be found in the simplicity of everyday life. To record moments in everyday life that escape the frenetic pace of the daily, and to capture details that so often evade our gaze.

Could we be birds, marine animals that belong to no nation? Free to follow our own migratory routes? This work addresses urgent questions of survival on earth, such as other-than-human and human rights. The video suggests the possibility of becoming each other in empathy with all materiality. Could we become a bird flying across continents or an octopus swimming across oceans by thinking through touch? Could we imagine migration routes for all species, human and non-human? Could we, who belong to one world, dream of no more forehead tears?
