Hamid Ajbar: Two stories, one path
An encounter between music and dance that unites two cultures: Arabo-Andalusian and Flamenco. Although these traditions emerged at different times, they have crossed paths in time and space, both meeting on the margins of society. This show combines the depth of flamenco singing with the lyrical poetry of Andalusian moaxajas and zejel verses, interwoven with Eastern rhythms. The result is a jondo fusion of exquisite refinement, with a freshness that evokes the warm, fragrant breezes that blow over the Alhambra on summer nights.

Hamid Ajbar was born in Chefchaouen, Morocco, and trained from an early age in the recitation and chanting of the Koran in Rabat. Back in Chefchaouen, he took part in Sufi "Zawiyyas", where he learned spiritual qasidas and muwashahat poems from masters such as Ibn Arabi and Harrak. At the age of 12, she began studying Andalusian chant and violin at the Chaouen Conservatory. She completed her training in Tétouan and Rabat, where she graduated with honors in Andalusian singing, violin and Andalusian repertoire. He has won several national Andalusian singing Award .
After his studies, he was a music teacher at the Chaouen Conservatory and a member of the Orchestre national de musique andalouse conducted by Mohamed Briouel. In 1996, he moved to Granada, where he collaborated with flamenco and early music artists such as Paco de Lucía and José Mercé. Since 2015, he has been performing internationally with his groups Hamid Ajbar Flamenco and Jinnan Al Andalus, while working on other solo projects.
