Story of a lichen - Eduard Escoffet and Cristian Alcaraz
Histoire d'un lichen is a performance based on an iconic image: a computer screen with an idyllic, clean and crystalline Mediterranean beach, which conceals the presence of posidonia, a marine plant that has given the Mediterranean its characteristic color for millennia. Beneath this idealized surface lies the tension of a natural and social world subject to human boundaries, measurements and classifications.

On land and at sea, living organisms and people have adapted to these rigid structures, which have turned the Mediterranean into a space of conflict and recreation. The performance, created by poets Cristian Alcaraz and Eduard Escoffet, is a creative dialogue that explores the Mediterranean from its depths to the undersea cables that bring the Internet to our screens.
Cristian Alcaraz
A graduate in directing and playwriting, Cristian Alcaraz has published several collections of poems, including Turismo de interior and Individuo armado, as well as the play Días de exterminio. He received a grant from the Antonio Gala Foundation and trained at the Conde Duque II Winter School. He is currently working as author and director on theater projects for Spam.Please.Enter and Boca Agua, and stands out for his committed and experimental work.
Eduard Escoffet
Poet and sound artist Eduard Escoffet has presented his work at international festivals such as Sónar and the Fondation Louis Vuitton. He has published books of poetry such as Gaire and El terra i el cel, and his film Cos endins won the Goethe Award at the Zebra Poetry Film Festival. In 2023, he premiered Echo and the Oracle, an installation about artificial intelligence. He also presented his first solo exhibition in Barcelona, reflecting his interest in poetry, technology and sound art.
