"Prélude" breathes life into the heart of public space. A raw and communal hip-hop dance where struggle, momentum, and breath come together. Nine dancers from the Accrorap Company, directed by choreographer Kader Attou, channel the energy of a resilient humanity—balancing struggle with the joy of sharing—set to the electro-acoustic music of Romain Dubois.

*Prélude* is born from a breath—the first cry, the vital impulse. In it, Kader Attou revisits his own journey: his childhood in the suburbs of Lyon, his discovery of boxing, the beauty of movement, and the power of hip-hop as a space for empowerment. He explores the intimate connection between dance, music, and breath—that shared rhythm that unites all beings.
Designed for public spaces, *Prélude Out* reaches out to those who might not typically step inside a theater. Focused and energetic, this production offers raw, collective dance that is accessible to everyone. Set to Romain Dubois’s electro-acoustic music, the piece rises from silence to a crescendo of intensity, like a struggle to be fought to the very end.
The nine dancers embody humanity in a state of tension: physical contact, breaths, bursts of energy, and resistance. The choreography becomes a metaphor for struggle—physical, poetic, and fraternal—and celebrates the power of movement and the joy of immediate connection.

Kader Attou
Kader Attou is a dancer, choreographer, and artistic director of the Accrorap Company, one of the leading voices in hip-hop dance. In 1989, he founded the Accrorap Company in Lyon. Since 1996, he has been the sole director of the company, grounding his dance in the sharing and blending of artistic styles (circus, contemporary dance, Indian dance, and world music).
From 2008 to 2021, he directed the National Choreographic Center of La Rochelle, becoming the first hip-hop choreographer to head such an institution. A Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters (2013) and later of the Legion of Honor (2015), he has been based at the Friche la Belle de Mai in Marseille with the Accrorap Company since 2022.
