Maestro Espada

Concert
All audiences

As if returning home with the curious eyes of a visitor, brothers Alejandro and Víctor Hernández delve into the musical traditions of their native Murcian garden with Maestro Espada, a captivating project where analog synthesizers mix with castanets and lutes, demonstrating that electronics can also be folklore. Culture is what we create together: song, bread, war.

Additional Information

Tradition is our way: diphonic, unleavened, guerrilla. After almost a century of American musical domination, we're waking up to the urgency of sowing new seeds in the global cultural landscape. From Murcia, the Hernández brothers - lifelong singers - have created Maestro Espada.

Maestro Espada

Maestro Espada are two brothers born in Murcia who, after having followed different paths, one in Barcelona and the other in Madrid, found in their shared fascination for the folklore of the Huerta region the perfect excuse to make music together again, finding in this shared memory, in this childhood of songs, the perfect excuse to give birth to one of the most interesting projects of recent years. A project born of castanets and distortion, lutes and synthesizers, fragility and brutality, intensity and hedonism, tradition and avant-garde, popular music and experimentation, playfulness and respect, orthodoxy and fantasy, a way of speaking and, why not, singing.
