Performance - Juggling and Science: The Realm of Possibilities, Olivier Tourny, Cédric Paga, Hélène Courvoisier & Fabrizio Solinas
Since 2022, the Maison des Jonglages and the Atelier du Plateau have joined forces to co-produce and present collaborative works as part of evenings dedicated to experimentation between the arts and sciences. Audiences are invited to step into a laboratory where researchers and artists engage in dialogue, then share their practices and knowledge through original forms at the intersection of art and scientific research.

The Clown and the Ethnomusicologist
A delightful exploration of the intersection of art and science, off the beaten path…
Cédric Paga, alias Ludor Citrik, a clown and circus author, and Olivier Tourny, an ethnomusicologist and research director at the CNRS, Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology (IDEAS, CNRS-Aix-Marseille University), take as their starting point fieldwork conducted in a mixed Christian monastery in an Arab village in Israel, and question the very essence of music.

Gossiping Animals
What is an animal? What does it mean to be human? Who is the other? And why?
Hélène Courvoisier, lecturer and researcher in neuroscience, and Fabrizio Solinas, zoomorphic juggler, were brought together to ask themselves questions nobody had asked them and to give answers nobody wanted.

*Circassian Heterographies* was developed as part of the circus and humanities workshops held in September 2019 at CIAM in Aix-en-Provence. The project was written by Cédric Parizot and Vincent Berhault and was produced by CIAM, with support from LabexMed, IREMAM, TELEMME, and the Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology.
The House of Juggling
La Maison des Jonglages, a non-profit association founded in 2008 under the French law of 1901, is dedicated to promoting and gaining recognition for the richness and diversity of juggling arts today. Since 2015 it has held the status of Scène Conventionnée Art et Création, Jonglages (a state-recognized venue for artistic creation, specializing in juggling).
Over the years, La Maison des Jonglages has become a unifying hub through which the general public, performing-arts professionals, artists, and amateurs alike encounter juggling companies, emerging artists, and works in progress.
Since January 2025, La Maison des Jonglages has been based in the Bondy area. From the local to the global and back again, this state-recognized juggling venue is part of a flexible, ever-shifting network involving a wide range of partners and highly varied audiences.
Now directed by Vincent Berhault, La Maison des Jonglages is recognized by jugglers, performing-arts professionals, and the general public alike as a resource centre for the art of juggling.
