Mediterranean Flows
Explore the rich cultural currents of the Mediterranean through movement in this immersive dance workshop, combining somatic practices and choreography inspired by landscapes, rhythms, and migration stories.
This immersive dance workshop invites participants to explore the rich and layered cultural currents of the Mediterranean through movement. By blending somatic practices with choreographic exercises, attendees will tune into the body’s natural intelligence, learning to move with awareness, sensitivity, and expressiveness. The workshop draws inspiration from the diverse landscapes, rhythms, and migration stories that have shaped the Mediterranean for centuries, offering a unique lens through which to experience its cultural heritage.
Dance has always been a vital form of expression in the Mediterranean, reflecting the region’s social, historical, and cultural exchanges. From traditional folk dances that celebrate local identities to contemporary forms that address migration, resilience, and community, movement in this region carries stories of connection, adaptation, and survival. Through this workshop, participants will not only develop physical skills but also gain insight into how dance can serve as a medium for storytelling, intercultural dialogue, and community building, allowing them to connect deeply with the Mediterranean’s living, evolving cultural landscape.
