“Water Lilies” was created in 2025 for the 4th year contemporary dance students at the Elementary School for Classical Ballet and Contemporary Dance, at the Elementary School Vežica, Rijeka. Inspired by Monet’s “Water Lilies” and set to Claire de Lune by Debussy, the work is a meditation on peace, interdependence and the flow of water.

The dancers investigated aspects of flow, falling, stability and instability in partnership. Monet worked on this cycle of paintings, inspired by the water garden he created, for several decades, and offered the crowning series to the French State on the day that followed the Armistice of November 11, 1918, as a symbol for peace.
