Dé-racinement is a performance created by artists Amal Alnabwany and Emmanuelle Pépin, set to music for Art Explora by Syrian oud player Rooney Lumière. In this performance, the artists highlight the pain and strength that emerge when leaving one's homeland and adapting to a new reality. Through dance, performance, installation and poetry, they delve into the complex emotions of uprooting: loss, the search for identity, rebuilding oneself, solidarity. At the same time, they highlight the resilience of plant spaces that have managed to survive and flourish in contaminated environments such as Chernobyl, or the Damascus roses exiled to MAMAC Nice. Accompanied by Rooney Lumière, the artists seek to show the persistent force of life despite obstacles, and invite the public to reflect on human resilience and the ability to flourish in new contexts.
