DJ Set
All audiences

In a DJ set shaped by dense atmospheres and subtle sonic drifts, PLO Man builds a sonic journey where house, techno, breakbeat and dub echoes intersect in a fluid way. Closely connected to the universe of Acting Press, a cult label within the underground electronic scene, he develops an approach attentive to texture, duration and the slow transformations of the dancefloor. The video projection of an original drawing by JAS expands this sensory experience.
In a DJ set shaped by atmospheric depth and an attention to the subtle transformations of sound, PLO Man constructs a musical narrative that moves across different territories of contemporary electronic music. Between hypnotic house and techno pulses, ambient drifts, fragmented rhythms and dub influences, his sonic journey unfolds in a fluid and immersive way, privileging texture, duration and the creation of intense and enveloping listening environments.
Originally from Calgary, PLO Man is one of the central figures behind Acting Press, a label that over the last decade has become a cult reference within the international underground electronic scene. Through the release of records, cassettes and CDs, Acting Press has built a singular universe attentive to the margins and less predictable zones of contemporary dance culture. This sensibility also runs through PLO Man’s work as both producer and DJ, where different musical languages coexist without rigid hierarchies, balancing physical pulse, experimentation and atmospheric drift.Alongside his studio work and the many collaborations connected to the label’s universe, PLO Man has presented his DJ sets in clubs and festivals internationally, developing an approach that privileges the gradual construction of energy and an attentive relationship between sound, space and duration.
The experience is expanded through the video projection of an original drawing by JAS, developed in direct dialogue with the music. Lines, rhythms and visual forms follow the transformations of sound, creating an expanded sensory environment where image and listening continuously reshape one another.
The DJ programme at the Art Explora Festival is curated by Filho Único.

Filho Único is a cultural association founded in Lisbon in 2007. It is an independent entity that does not receive annual funding or financial support from state mechanisms. It develops its active presence in Lisbon and on the international circuit through the aesthetic and critical approaches of its programming, co-productions, and the promotion of concerts, installations, and music events, as well as through the cooperative booking and representation of musicians.
Over the years, its role has been recognized in taking on an ever-unassured challenge: continuously reimagining the understanding of music—not limited by technique, data, or logic, but rather as expression and dynamic force, relational and liberating, present in lived experience, intergenerational knowledge, and enduring connections between body, land, and history.
