Workshop presentation: DB Indoš & Tanja Vrvilo

Workshop
Children

Performance artists Damir Bartol Indoš and Tanja Vrvilo are running a workshop for children titled “Shachtophony for 2 shoes on 8 little shachtophones”. The idea is based on the so-called “Note 6” by the pioneer of the Croatian literary avant-garde, Janko Polić Kamov, “Life wears a cothurnus on one foot and a buffoon’s sock on the other”. Kamov’s “24 Notes” were published under the pseudonym Gian Paolo in the futurist magazine “Lacerba” in 1913, three years after the writer’s death. The workshop is performed on authentic instruments – eight sound boxes with tensioned strings and manhole covers, the so-called shachtophones, accompanied by colored scores by Damir Bartol Indoš.
