Triangle-Astérides is a contemporary art center of national interest, and a founding member of the Friche la Belle de Mai cultural cooperative in Marseille, where it has been based since its creation by artists in 1994. Triangle-Astérides is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The art center combines a demanding programme exhibitions with research residencies for artists from the French and international scenes and local associate artists, as well as events, editorial programming and attentive work with all kinds of audiences.

With Marseille, the Mediterranean and other seas as a backdrop, this selection of artists' videos offers singular journeys in the form of autobiographical narratives, anthologies, series and experimental documentaries.

Ayo, Harilay Rabenjamina, Melika Shafahi and Yuyan Wang - four artists who will be in Marseille between 2018 and 2022 as part of Triangle-Astérides' residency programme - come together here to explore the notion of entropy and the inexorable, furtive present. Each of them has written a sensitive account of what is happening, of what makes us doubt and hope.

A screening curated by Marie de Gaulejac, curator in charge of the exhibition and residency programme at Triangle-Astérides. She will soon be artistic director of visual arts at 3 bis f in Aix-en-Provence.
