Saturday, September 21: Ocean Weekend

10:00 - 18:00 : Hors les murs - ricochets (this time it's personal) - Exhibition - QANAT collective

Rooted in histories of water and ecological infrastructures, the exhibition ricochets ("this time it's personal") gives voice to tired djinns, mysterious aquatic creatures and exhausted tourist operators. It deciphers the politics of creating and redefining spaces-images-territories and the right to belong to them.

11:00 - 13:00: Workshop - Reflections on plastic: stories, memories and emotions

Plastic is an integral part of our daily lives, to the point of seeming almost indispensable. How does our relationship with plastic manifest itself? Is it really essential to our lives? How do we perceive its impact on our society and our environment?

17:30 - 19:00: Talk - "Port cities, creative cities!" by THINK TANGER

The first panel talk opens on the city of Tangier! Conversation proposed by Think Tanger, an innovative cultural organization in dialogue with Port Cities, a project that extends thinking on port cities and maritime spaces beyond the Mediterranean.

11:00 - 13:00: Workshop - Traces of disappearance with Abderrahim Benattabou

Inspired by "Gyotaku", an ancient Japanese technique for reproducing fish prints on materials such as paper or fabric, this workshop led by Abderrahim Benatabou aims to raise awareness of the fragile existence of these species.

14:00 - 15:00: Hors les murs - L'éloge du sensible - Visit with Hamedine Kane

L'éloge du sensible is a chapter in a new series of photos and videos by artist Hamedine Kane, stemming from his iconographic research for the project "Le livre d'image, Africa XXI #1, Les luttes". Anchored in a perpetual wandering movement, this approach explores the manifestations of the living, bypassing anxiety-provoking social and political situations. Kane favors intimate, secret spaces of production, mobilizing the power of becoming in motion. Unlike power, which is often oppressive, power always belongs to and serves the people. The confinement and violence inflicted on the people are not inevitable, for with power, the people engage in a permanent revolutionary process.

16:30 - 17:30: Talk - Dima Dayma, autobiography of a Mika with Soukaina Aziz Idrissi x Les Bonnes Onde

"Dima Dayma" is the steroid-boosted, Cornelian autobiography of a polymer who would have preferred death to eternal wandering. Tossed about by the wind, the ragmen and the waves, a plastic bag recounts its misadventure to anyone who will listen. The story is supplemented by valuable information from waste management professionals, a former ragpicker and members of civil society... 

17:30 - 19:00: Talk - "Synthetic agencies" by THINK TANGER

For its second Panel Talk, Think Tangier will continue to elaborate on the destiny of cities and their transformations accelerated by exogenous factors. This meeting launches their new cycle entitled Synthetic Agencies.

19:30 - 21:00: Open-air cinema - La Maison bleue - Meeting and screening with Hamedine Kane and Fatima Bintou Rassoul Sy

A conversation between Hamedine Kane and Fatima Bintou Rassoul Sy ,based on the artist's work, will unfold the issues that run through his work: places of passage, transit and exile. Territories where attempts at resistance emerge, such as those implemented by Alpha in his house-workshop in the Calais camp. The film presents itself as a point of convergence of life trajectories, an encounter that transcends the desolation of place and politics. This subtle, intimate entry into the space of exile will open the door to the artist's other projects, notably Habiter le Monde , in which spaces open up like endless roads, or Dans l'ombre de nos fantômes, in which a deconstruction of the imbalances that govern maritime space is articulated, while invoking mythical spaces on the water between Africa, the Caribbean and Europe.
