Youth is a time of big questions, of great desires that are sometimes contradictory, a storm of intense, raw, sincere emotions. An age that passes… without ever truly leaving. T.O.D. is a unique experience every single time!
Damien Chardonnet-Darmaillacq
A director, playwright, lecturer and researcher, he holds a PhD in the history and aesthetics of theatre. He taught at the Universities of Nanterre and Poitiers between 2007 and 2013. At the same time, he worked as an assistant director to Yves-Noël Genod, as a dramaturg for the choreographer Vanessa Le Mat, and, once his thesis was completed, at the Opéra for Krzysztof Warlikowski and for the video artist Denis Guéguin. Still at the Opéra, he collaborated with conductor René Jacobs as part of the Klara Festival on a staged reading of Il Rittorno from Ulisse in patria, a production that toured Belgium and Europe. In 2013, he helped establish the Belgian campus of the Cours Florent in Brussels. He has been its academic lead since 2025. He regularly collaborates as a researcher and historian with the Comédie-Française, the Sorbonne, Harvard, MIT, the Central Academy of Drama in China, and others. As a director, in 2018 he staged Racine’s Andromaque at the Phénix, Valenciennes’ national theatre — a tour organised by the CDN and the national theatres of Hauts-de-France, Normandy, Paris and Île-de-France. In 2020, he directed Dennis Kelly’s Love & Money in Mandarin at the National Theatre of Taipei in Taiwan as part of a Franco-Taiwanese co-production. In 2021, he staged Mozart’s Thamos with the Lille National Orchestra. In 2022, he directed the first episode of T.O.D. (Théâtre On Demand), co-produced by the Louvre-Lens. In 2025, he staged the second instalment of T.O.D., in collaboration with the Phénix, Valenciennes’ national theatre.
