Tina Gverović: Rising Levels

Exhibition
All audiences

Rising Levels is a sketch for a totem-like ready-made object. A proposal for a new temporary public sculpture by Tina Gverović exploring the interplay between materials, social practices and intercultural contexts. Inspired by the Endless Column by Constantin Brancusi, it is built up as a stack of both found objects that find its place in the city, the port with new prefabricated or bought.

It is built up as a stack of found objects that receive their new place in the city, on the streets, the construction works, the port, playgrounds, parks or squares, together with prefabricated objects bought in specialized stores (cables, pipes, different props). The layered structure of this work reminds of the primary use of the objects we recognize, evoking their materiality, history and different processes going on in the urban environment of a port city.
