NEW COMMISSIONS

  • On this occasion, Laure Prouvost 's original commission IDEALLY YOU WOULD SEA WHERE TO GO - HERE WE DREAM OF NO MORE FRONT TEARS is unveiled for the first time. These phrases written on the sails of the museum boat, produced in a specialized workshop in Brittany, are based on a hybrid play on words between English and French.
  • The emblematic work Love Difference - Mar Mediterraneo by international artist Michelangelo Pistoletto, in the form of a mirror-topped table shaped like the Mediterranean basin will be on show twenty years after it was first displayed at the Venice Biennale in 2003.
  • Mass Struggle by artist Akram Zaatari was created especially for the Art Explora Festival. Invited by Amanda Abi Khalil and Danielle Makhoul - curators associated with the tour - the artist presents a work that takes the form of the Mediterranean Sea. Mass Struggle highlights the region's exhaustion in the face of constant human and commercial flows.

No Title (For the Sea), Renata Poljak, 2024.
