“Antiprincesses – Carolina Beatriz Ângelo” is part of Cláudia Gaiolas’s “Antiprincesses” series, which reimagines historical female figures as alternative role models for children.

Focusing on the life of physician and feminist Carolina Beatriz Ângelo, the first woman to vote in Portugal in 1911, the show blends biography with historical context through an accessible and captivating theatrical style.

Combining humor, storytelling, and a connection with the audience, the play invites reflection on rights, freedom, and civic engagement. It encourages young audience members to challenge gender stereotypes and to recognize their own potential for individual and collective change.
