In a DJ set shaped by the tension between sonic exploration, physical intensity, and futuristic imagination, Violet weaves a musical narrative that traverses the diverse landscapes and histories of contemporary dance music. Between acid house variations, imaginative techno, offbeat rhythms, and unexpected textures, her sonic journey unfolds with fluidity and complexity, simultaneously invoking the energy of the dance floor, attentive listening, and conceptual exploration.

Deeply rooted in Lisbon’s music scene, Violet co-founded Rádio Quântica and Planeta Manas, two projects that have played a fundamental role in the critical and political renewal of dance cultures in Portugal. This collective and reflective dimension also permeates her artistic practice, where the DJ set appears not only as a space for musical circulation and mixing, but also as a practice of community-building, memory, and possibility. In recent years, she has performed at some of the most prestigious venues on the international electronic and experimental scene, such as Berghain/Panorama Bar, Berlin Atonal, Unsound, Dekmantel, Gamma, and Field Maneuvers, establishing a unique artistic language that is at once demanding, sensory, and expansive.

The experience is enhanced by a video projection of an original drawing by JAS, created in direct dialogue with the music. Lines, rhythms, and visual forms accompany the sonic transformations, creating an immersive environment where image and sound influence and transform one another.

Filho Único is a cultural association founded in Lisbon in 2007. It is an independent organization that receives no annual funding or financial support from the government. It maintains an active presence in Lisbon and on the international scene through a program featuring aesthetic and critical approaches, its co-productions, and the promotion of concerts, installations, and musical events, as well as the cooperative booking and performance of musicians.

Over the years, its role has been recognized as rising to an ever-evolving challenge: constantly rethinking our understanding of music—not limited by technique, data, or logic, but rather as an expression and a dynamic, relational, and liberating force, present in lived experience, intergenerational knowledge, and the enduring connections between the body, the land, and history.
