Applications for artist residency sessions Art Explora x Cité internationale des arts 2024/2025 are now open!

Since its first edition in 2021, this programme residency has welcomed over 64 residents of all ages, disciplines and nationalities, to the Cité internationale des arts - Montmartre site in the heart of Paris.

Candidates are invited to present a project that explores the links between art and science, the themes of scientific and technological exploration, or contemporary social and environmental issues.

Applications are examined by a selection committee made up of leading international figures from the world of art and research:  

- Magalí Arriola (Mexico): Art critic and director of the Museo Tamayo of Contemporary Art  

- Diana Campbell Betancourt (USA & Bangladesh): Artistic Director of the Samdani Art Foundation and Chief Curator of the Dhaka Art Summit  

- Emanuele Coccia (Italy): Philosopher and lecturer at EHESS

- Isabelle Gaudefroy (France): Deputy Artistic Director, Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain

- Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikun (Cameroon): Director of the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin.

- Hans Ulrich Obrist (Switzerland & United Kingdom): Artistic Director, Serpentine Galleries

Artists from all over the world are invited to submit their applications for programme SOLO (for artists) or COLLECTIVE (for artist collectives) on our application platform until November 7, 2023 at 11:59 pm (Paris time, GMT +2).

The Calendar:

- Applications open: September 28, 2023
- Applications close: November 7, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. (Paris time, GMT +2)
- Winners announced: January 2024 for residencies from March to August 2024; May 2024 for residencies from September 2024 to February 2025
