Lucie, 500th to obtain her Art Explora Academy certificate

Who are you? 

My name is Lucie, I'm 23 years old and I'm a graphic designer. I've moved around a lot lately between Lyon and Marseille, but I'm originally from Tarbes in the southwest.

How did you discover Art Explora Academy?

I discovered Art Explora Academy through internet searches because I wanted to resume art history courses following my studies.

What is your favorite route and why?

My favorite section is the one on modern art because it's the artistic movement that brings together the most artists that I particularly like (Kandinsky, Mondrian, Picasso, the Delaunays…)

The craziest thing you've ever learned?

I particularly enjoyed two pieces of information about two techniques: in the Islamic Arts section, the meticulous work involved in illumination and the 258 miniatures in the Shahnameh text created by 15 different painters; and in the Egyptian section, the technique of using cylinder seals to imprint designs and sign books.

Why did you decide to do the Art Explora Academy certificate?

I studied applied arts and graphic design and I have a strong personal interest in art history. I love going to museums and I wanted to continue learning and expanding my knowledge in this area.

Would you recommend the platform to your friends and family? Why?

I would recommend it without hesitation; I find the platform intuitive and well-designed, especially for people who have never taken an art history course before. The fact that the lessons are interspersed with videos, anecdotes, and quizzes helps make learning smoother, in my opinion.
