Museums and collections in Dialogue: Lala Raščić, Renata Poljak
Collection in dialogue will bring two video works from the collection of MMSU The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka, Gorgo by Lala Raščić and Yet Another Departure by Renata Poljak with the spaces and the permanent display of the Museum of the City of Rijeka, to shape new meanings and knowledge framing the contexts that surrounds them.

Tina Gverović: Rising Levels
Rising Levels, sketch of a totem-like ready-made object. Proposal for a new temporary public sculpture by Tina Gverović exploring the interplay between materials, social practices and intercultural contexts. Inspired by Constantin Brancusi's Endless Column, it consists of a stack of found objects that find their place in the city, the port, and prefabricated or purchased objects.
Jumana Manna : Foragers
Foragers depicts the dramas around the practice of foraging for wild edible plants in Palestine/Israel with wry humor and a meditative pace. Shot in the Golan Heights, the Galilee and Jerusalem, it employs fiction, documentary and archival footage to portray the impact of Israeli nature protection laws on these customs.
Ringside: Body Monologue [Anastasija Valsamaki]
As part of the Ringside project, the Croatian Cultural Center (HKD) presents the dance performance Body Monologue by Greek choreographer Anastasia Valsamaki, filmed and translated into virtual reality in an impressive abandoned quarry near Athens.
Archacobotany & The Apocalypse
In her lecture-performance ARCHAEOBOTANY & THE APOCALYPSE, via narrative and media content, Raščić presents ongoing artistic research begun in 2023 for her new project and lifelong endeavor. With the aim of covering the entirety of her Sarajevo studio with paintings in the 'buon fresco' technique, the project was inspired by the artist's encounter with two historical figures. One is the Roman empress Sabina Poppaea and the other is Wilhemina Jashemski, an archaeobotanist who revolutionized this discipline in the 1970s with work on the excavation site of Sabina Poppaea’s villa in Oplontis near Pompeii.

Furious Sea of Carbon
The transnational project MER FURIEUSE DE CARBONE links the marginal exaltation of Mediterranean matter by Ivan Martinac and Damir Očko, through the volcanic song of Cape Verde, to the mosaic of the Sahel where The Otolith Group condenses the saturation of Ousmane Sembène and Djibril Diop Mambéty.

Workshop - La Recyclerie Mobile - Sauvage Méditerranée with the collaboration of Laure Prouvost
The association Sauvage Méditerranée is offering two workshops with its Recyclerie mobile. You'll have the opportunity to discover the main stages of plastic recycling through three fun activities, with the aim of creating an object designed by artist Laure Prouvost, using the heating and injection of recycled plastic!

Ocean Weekend
Ocean Weekends" are part of the Festival program, inviting researchers, scientists and artists to round-table discussions on the theme of the ocean and climate change. to discuss the theme of the ocean and the climate emergency, with a local approach that is renewed at each stage. In Marseille, the Ocean Weekend takes place on World Ocean Day.

Round table discussion on "Journey to the center of the Pelagos Sanctuary" moderated by Susan Gallon, MedPAN Scientific Manager. Speakers: Hélène Labach, Director of Miraceti, Noëlie Pansiot, Coordinator of the 1 OCEAN project and Sylvain Petit, Director of SMILO.
Southway Pavilion round table (invited by Martha Kirszenbaum)
Southway Studio's programme for l'Agora takes the form of a round-table discussion with Jean-Louis Pacull, Eric di Meco, Valeilles Dufaure de Montmirail, Thibaud Leplat and Fabien Fragione to discuss the social history of OM and soccer in Marseille. A sound piece designed by Samson, combining stadium sounds and fan songs recorded at the Vélodrome, is also broadcast in the Agora.

The Art Explora Festival offers a rich, multi-disciplinary program including visits to the museum ship, exhibition pavilions, virtual reality experiences, artistic performances, concerts, conferences, film screenings, creative workshops and meetings. You'll be able to discover local and international artists, as well as thinkers and cultural players exploring contemporary themes related to the Mediterranean region. All Festival events are free of charge. Please note, however, that some events - such as workshops - require a reservation via the ticket office. Please consult the page dedicated to each event for more information on times and booking procedures.

Yes, the boat is freely accessible on site. However, you can pre-book your time online on our website.
For reasons of safety and preservation of the boat, high heels and stilettos may not be worn on the boat.
To take part in the workshops and meetings offered during the Festival, you'll generally need to register in advance. Information on how to register will be available on the dedicated event page, where you can also find details of times and how to take part.
Yes, the Art Explora Festival also offers child-friendly activities, such as creative workshops specially designed for young participants. See the program to find out about events and activities adapted to children and families.
The museum boat is open to all free of charge. To find out on which quay it will be moored, or to pre-book your slot, consult the page dedicated to your town.
Appropriate facilities have been set up on the Festival site for the reception and access of people with reduced mobility. The boat is equipped with a 1m-wide ramp, accessible to people with reduced mobility, but may require the accompaniment of a third party due to its gradient of over 6%. Access to the aft deck and immersive exhibition is possible. However, the upper deck is not accessible. Please inform us in advance of any special accessibility requirements, so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
