Black Med listening session is a performance combining a video screening and a live mixing session by Invernomuto (Simone Bertuzzi and Simone Trabucchi). The project explores the trajectories that sounds trace as they travel across the Mediterranean in sonic form. We inaugurate the IX chapter, produced for the Art Explora Málaga Festival, created in relation to the sounds of the southern Iberian Peninsula and their possible echoes in other parts of this sea. From the Cantigas de Santa Maria to Algerian raï, via Lole y Manuel or the urban phenomena of rappers such as Huda.

The RockeRIn project arose from the successful collaboration between educational institutions (primary and secondary schools) in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County within the framework of the PjesmaRIca and PjesmaRIca2 projects, where choirs from Rijeka and the surrounding area performed pop-rock songs from Rijeka. Given the satisfaction and success of previous projects, it became clear that we needed to offer our students new collaborative creative activities and enriching leisure pursuits.

In the language of primordial symbols, the sea, the element that fosters births, transformations and re births, represents the very dynamic symbol of life. Civilizations that had been developed along its coasts have never ceased their dialogue with the world of the sea, a dialogue sustained through maritime experience and the imaginative representations of the sea itself and what it means to those who are living so closely bound up with it: curiosity, riches, exchanges and Mystery.

JMZM: Seemingly Indifferent to Disaster

"Naoko nehajani spram udesa" [Apparently indifferent to disaster] seemed an appropriate title for this concert, a sound intervention accompanying a series of short films from Zagreb's film archives: Antun Babaja's Brod (1957), Bura (1958), Pod ljetnim suncem (1960) and Obrad Gluščević's Ljudi s Neretve (1966). "Seemingly indifferent to disaster" is a quote from Babaja's film Brod (The Boat) which, from our current perspective, seems to describe our situation in 2025 as much as that of the protagonists in these films, more than half a century old. Each in its own way, these films explore life by the sea, from the sea and "against" the sea.

Ri Rock Academy was created with the idea of developing and improving the Rijeka alternative scene. Above all, it is a unique place for learning and fostering innovation, rather than a form of institutionalized professional education. The program takes a different, “alternative”, approach, moving away from classical teaching methods and music theory, and is focused on individual or group musical practice.
