Black Med listening session is a performance combining a video screening and a live mixing session by Invernomuto (Simone Bertuzzi and Simone Trabucchi). The project explores the trajectories that sounds trace as they travel across the Mediterranean in sonic form. We inaugurate the IX chapter, produced for the Art Explora Málaga Festival, created in relation to the sounds of the southern Iberian Peninsula and their possible echoes in other parts of this sea. From the Cantigas de Santa Maria to Algerian raï, via Lole y Manuel or the urban phenomena of rappers such as Huda.

Beirut Birds (طيور بيروت) is a sonic memory capsule honoring (inter)personal stories of migration, displacement, and the cyclical turbulent circumstances in Lebanon. Transforming her multi-year project, multidisciplinary artist and composer Nour Sokhon crystallizes the performance Beirut Birds (طيور بيروت) into her long-awaited debut album. When presented and performed live, it is accompanied by juxtaposed images of the Lebanese capital’s city life and avian migration across the Mediterranean Sea, representing themes strongly woven into the music.

In response to the film BAC Nord, the performance BACH NORD [Bring Out the Guitars] offers a reappropriation of the image of young people from working-class neighborhoods by themselves. This participatory project is a musical and dance work inspired by the music of Bach, navigating between drill and instrumental music. The starting point for the choreographic creation is the work carried out by the choreographer during workshops in schools and socio-educational settings with around one hundred teenagers from the northern neighborhoods of Marseille.
