The first route of the museum ship will be the Mediterranean, an area of millennia of history and exchange, which has always mobilized and nourished the inspiration of artists, and naturally invites intercultural dialogue.

Nídia
In an intense and vibrant DJ set, Nídia blends kuduro rhythms, contemporary electronic music, and global influences, creating a raw, transformative energy that engages both body and dancefloor. Her incisive approach merges rhythm, politics, and identity into an immersive sonic experience, accompanied by a video projection of an original drawing by JAS in dialogue with the sound. The DJ programme at the Art Explora Festival is curated by Filho Único.

Caravanserá Workshop
Before the performance (on June 27th), audiences are invited to take part in a participatory workshop where movement, sound, and collective actions gradually shape the world of Caravanserá. Inspired by historical “caravanserais” – places of encounter and exchange –, the workshop creates an informal space where participants of different ages contribute to the atmosphere of the performance, blurring the boundaries between audience and performers.

Antiprincesses – Carolina Beatriz Ângelo
A theatre performance for children inspired by Carolina Beatriz Ângelo, the first woman to vote in Portugal. Through storytelling and humour, it explores equality, citizenship and freedom.

Metaphor of Water
A multidisciplinary performance exploring repetition, gesture and transformation. Through simple actions and sound, the piece creates a sensory and contemplative experience centred on presence and perception.

BRUXAS - ensaio para a esperança
BRUXAS - ensaio para a esperança invites audiences into a walk through Cascais where feminism, witch hunts and personal memories intersect and blur. Through fragmented narratives and unexpected voices, the performance unsettles official histories and reflects on hope as a fragile yet transformative gesture.

Tiago
In a DJ set shaped by fluidity and musical curiosity, Tiago moves across different atmospheres and languages of dance music in a journey that is both physical and immersive. A resident at Lux Frágil since its opening, he has developed an intuitive approach to DJing for over more than three decades, shaped by dancefloor experience and sonic exploration. The video projection of an original drawing by JAS expands this experience. The DJ programme at the Art Explora Festival is curated by Filho Único.

Olivia and the Invisible Earthquake, by Irene Iborra
Olívia, 12, her little brother Tim and their mother are forced to leave their apartment and move to a new neighbourhood. While Ingrid does whatever she can to solve the situation, Olivia creates a protective fantasy: none of it is true, it is all part of a film they are making. This fabrication will have unexpected consequences, however. Luckily, around them a new and colourful family will form, and together they will have many incredible adventures. Through laughter, tears, magic and friendship, they will find out that they are the heroes of their own life.

Contemporary Dance Workshop
This workshop aims to explore the energy, complexity and focus of contemporary dance. Participants will have the opportunity to develop their artistic expression skills and deepen their connection with their bodies and their environment.

Rachele Andrioli - Solo Concert "Leuca"
Thanks to her voice, to instruments such as the Jew's harp, the tambourine, the guitar, the harmonic flute, but also through the accomplished use of electronic machines, loop stations and others, Rachele Andrioli calls ancestral rituals, which carry the listener to suggestive and colorful elsewhere, where an inventive polyphony seems to spring forth in an unexpected, urgent, alive Salento.

Pavillon Immersion - Psychosphere by Jakob Kudsk Steensen
The Art Explora Foundation and artist Jakob Kudsk Stensen invite you to discover Psychosphere, an immersive underwater world that invites the public to discover the origins of life in the deep sea. the origins of life in the depths of the sea. The work of Danish artist Jakob Kudsk Steensen offers an immersive journey into the depths of the sea, combining original sound recordings with digitized images of volcanic vents, fossils and fish species. The fruit of five years' research conducted alongside scientists and expedition ships, Psychosphere offers new perspectives on our relationship with ecological systems.

Koza Mostra
Koza Mostra is a Greek rock band founded in 2012. It consists of Ilias Kozas (lead singer, classical and electric guitar), Dimitris Raptis (drums), Stavros Apostolidis (bouzouki, backing vocals), Giannis Bellos (bass guitar, backing vocals), Sofia Staikou (violin, backing vocals) and Asterios Fragos (electric guitar, backing vocals). The band fuses ska, punk, and rock music together with the style of traditional Greek folk music such as Macedonian Greek music and rebetiko.

DuOud
DuOud consists of two oud playing ; Tunisian born Jean-Pierre Smadja (already noted for many albums he issued as Smadj), and Algerian born master oud player Mehdi Haddab (known for his work with the acclaimed French based trio, Ekova, and more recently Speed Caravan). Blending their North African heritage with the latest Western technology, the pair builds a musical cycle that looks to their African roots while absorbing and morphing contemporary music styles – break beats, jazz grooves and metal guitar.

The Siids
Stanislav Grdaković and Darko Terlević were members of the Rijeka-based band Morso, but after the group stopped playing in 2016, the two of them embarked on a creative journey to Australia. There, they got a fresh inspiration to create music and defined a unique style which shaped their new project – The Siids.

Lana G
Lana G is a Zagreb-based DJ, passionate about afro house and African culture. Her journey started with her first love – dancing, through which she became more and more interested in house music and afro sounds. In time, she founded a collective called Soulectors, dedicated to organizing events and building the Soulful and Afro House scene in her hometown.

Magical Mediterranean mosaic
During this workshop, participants will discover the beauty of mosaics, one of the best-known art forms of Mediterranean cultures such as Greek, Roman and North African. Each participant will create his or her own small mosaic using paper squares. Inspired by traditional motifs, plants, the sea and geometry, participants will create unique works of art.

Water lilies
“Water Lilies” was created in 2025 for the 4th year contemporary dance students at the Elementary School for Classical Ballet and Contemporary Dance, at the Elementary School Vežica, Rijeka. Inspired by Monet’s “Water Lilies” and set to Claire de Lune by Debussy, the work is a meditation on peace, interdependence and the flow of water. The dancers investigated aspects of flow, falling, stability and instability in partnership.

Nathalie Harb: Land Inventory
Land Inventory is an immersive sound installation created in collaboration with artist Youmna Saba. Through a curated inventory list and field recordings from Lebanese soils, the project explores what remains, what has changed, and what might be lost of Lebanon’s natural and cultural heritage – its flora, fauna, landmarks, and homes.

The House of Extreme Music Theatre - Schachto-Culture: Clockspiderrainbewegen
The House of Extreme Music Theatre is a Zagreb-based performance group by the artist duo Damir Bartol Indoš and Tanja Vrvilo, which has been creating performance theatre works and sculptural sound installations based on the interaction of several media and forms of the essay theatre.

Praksa Choir
The choir Praksa nurtures antifascist values through music, performing songs that promote class solidarity and the overcoming of national barriers. Such songs have been empowering the marginalized and oppressed for centuries, advocating for a fairer life. Since the choir’s founding in March 2014, we have held over 200 performances in Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, North Macedonia, Italy, Austria, France, Sweden and Spain.

Symponia Ensemble – Sardinia, Italy
The launeddas is a reed wind instrument. Despite its resemblance to other wind instruments, this instrument is unique. It originated in Sardinia and perfectly embodies the identity of this island. It is indeed a very ancient instrument, as evidenced by a small bronze statue depicting a player dating from the second millennium BC.

The Art Explora Festival will take place from spring 2024 to spring 2026 in various Mediterranean cities.

The Art Explora Festival offers a rich, multi-disciplinary program including visits to the museum ship, exhibition pavilions, virtual reality experiences, artistic performances, concerts, lectures, film screenings, creative workshops and meetings. You'll be able to discover local and international artists, as well as thinkers and cultural players exploring contemporary themes related to the Mediterranean region. All Festival events are free of charge. Please note, however, that some events - such as workshops - require a reservation via the ticket office. Please consult the page dedicated to each event for more information on times and booking procedures.

Yes, the boat is freely accessible on site. However, you can pre-book your time online on our website.
For reasons of safety and preservation of the boat, high heels and stilettos may not be worn on the boat.
To take part in the workshops and meetings offered during the Festival, you'll generally need to register in advance. Information on how to register will be available on the dedicated event page, where you can also find details of times and how to take part.
Yes, the Art Explora Festival also offers child-friendly activities, such as creative workshops specially designed for young participants. Take a look at the program to find out about events and activities for children and families.
The museum boat is open to all free of charge. To find out on which quay it will be moored, or to pre-book your slot, consult the page dedicated to your town.
Appropriate facilities have been set up on the Festival site for the reception and access of people with reduced mobility. The boat is equipped with a 1m-wide ramp, accessible to people with reduced mobility, but may require the accompaniment of a third party due to its gradient of over 6%. Access to the aft deck and immersive exhibition is possible. However, the upper deck is not accessible. Please inform us in advance of any special accessibility requirements, so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
